This is the time of year when we’re thinking about buying gifts for other people–but when you’re doing all of that holiday shopping, why not pick up a few things for yourself too? While this might sound greedy, it’s actually smart. There are some great deals to be had this month, so go ahead and spoil yourself a little.
Winter outerwear: Stores are starting to unload their excess inventory of coats, scarves and other cozy winter gear, which is great timing for us shoppers because it hasn’t even gotten cold yet (granted, it never gets too cold in LA, but I’ve heard that even the rest of the country has had a mild fall so far). Check out all of the stylish coats and jackets at great prices at Nordstrom right now!
Swimsuits and beach attire: Summer is history, which means it’s a great time to buy new bathing suits, beach cover-ups, towels and sandals. Wear them on winter get-aways, or save them for next spring.
Bridal gowns: At the risk of starting rumors (no, I am not getting remarried!) I wanted to share this tip I read recently: The months of November and December are the best times to bargain on the price of a wedding dress. It makes sense that most brides shop for their dresses either before or after the holidays, so you might be able to negotiate a great price if you’re up for gown shopping at this time of year.
Big-ticket luxury goods: Even though most luxury investment pieces never go on sale, per se, you can probably get a better deal on them in November and December than throughout the rest of the year, especially if you buy online. Many sites will be having site-wide discounts in the coming weeks (especially between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday), and offering perks like free shipping. While those deals are designed for holiday shoppers, nothing’s to stop you from buying yourself a designer handbag, new luggage or even jewelry or a nice watch.
